Remarkable Family Achievement in Belgian Championship 2025

We have witnessed the success of draughts families in tournaments and seen women achieving impressive results in national championships among men. Yet, the outcome of the Belgian Championship 2025, which combines both trends, is truly remarkable.

In the main group, Ewa Schalley claimed the title of Belgian Champion 2025.
This is not her first triumph, as she had already won the national title once before (in 2019).
Adding to this family success, in the second group, Ewa's 12-year-old daughter, Aurelia Schalley, secured second place and qualified for promotion to the main group - a fantastic achievement at such a young age.
While Ronald Schalley, the father and multiple Belgian Champion, didn't participate in this tournament, he can surely take pride in his family's outstanding performance.
